Education

Did you know that in Uganda, education is not free? With the average daily wage of less than $3 per day, it is no wonder that so many struggle to pay for the school fees for their children.

When a household has multiple children, it generally is the oldest child (or male child) that is given the opportunity to attend.
One of the most common things we hear, after a student has joined His Grace Ministries, is that they no longer fear or stress over being sent home from the school for lack of school fees. We are so thankful that we can eliminate this stress from their lives.
At HGM, we pride ourselves on being able to offer Intentional, Christ-centered mentorship that explores each child’s God-given, unique strengths and gifts to fine tune their educational path. We believe that not every child learns the same way as so their educational path should mirror their abilities.
We work closely with the child and their parent/guardian to create a plan that will give them the highest level of success – whether that is the traditional education path or a vocational path that equips them with a specific skill.
In addition, we believe in giving children an opportunity to explore areas outside of traditional academics and have recently begun offering additional programs like our English literacy program for both mothers and children, a computer training program to give them additional skills that will enhance their school performance as well as talent development (Music, Dance and Drama in additional to sports engagement like soccer, netball and volleyball).
Education
We desire to create a well-rounded student that is exposed to as many opportunities as possible – even learning about community service. We encourage our students to engage and find ways to leave their community better than they found it – whether by acts of kindness, spreading the gospel, loving their neighbors like Jesus, or through picking up trash, pulling weeds and protecting the environment.
We believe that these are the things that will make the children stand out and become wonderful, adult members of the community that bring about change for generations to come. We call this, the HGM difference.
